Alternative Finance / SMB Lending
An international fintech scale-up, backed by Tier 1 institutions and trusted by some of the world's fastest-growing consumer brands, is expanding its footprint across Australia and New Zealand; this is an opportunity to join a company that's transforming how modern eCommerce and D2C/B2B brands access working capital, using data-driven underwriting to provide funding in as little as 24 hours, and empowering founders to scale without traditional banking friction.
Why Join
You'll join a mission-led fintech that has deployed over
$4+ billion globally
, backed by tier-one banks, with a culture grounded in collaboration, integrity, and ambition; you'll have genuine autonomy to make an impact, access market-leading benefits including generous parental leave and wellbeing initiatives, and the flexibility to work hybrid from Sydney or remotely across Australia.
The Opportunity
This role sits at the heart of our broker ecosystem; you'll define and execute the broker growth strategy, recruiting new partners, managing existing relationships, and shaping the policies and processes that underpin our lending model. You'll be the commercial link between the business and our broker network, providing support on structuring, underwriting feedback, and deal flow management, while also collaborating closely with Credit, Operations, and Product teams to continually improve the partner and customer experience.
Your week could include onboarding a new broker, reviewing a live deal with Credit, visiting a partner's office, presenting insights to leadership, and representing the company at industry events; it's a dynamic, relationship-led role that blends sales, strategy, and market intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, onboard, and enable new broker partners, ensuring they understand the product suite, value proposition, and process.
- Manage and grow existing relationships to drive volume and retention, maintaining consistent communication on pipeline, approvals, and market trends.
- Support brokers in structuring and processing deals, liaising internally to ensure fast turnaround and clarity on outcomes.
- Gather market feedback and provide insights to leadership to help refine credit policy and go-to-market strategy.
- Track performance metrics, report on growth opportunities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of partner experience.
- Represent the business at industry events and in-person meetings to strengthen brand presence and trust within the ecosystem.
About You
You're a commercially savvy operator who understands SMB lending and has experience working directly with brokers or financial intermediaries; you know how to balance sales and relationship management with operational discipline, and you thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments where ownership and accountability matter. You're equally comfortable building relationships, analysing performance data, and presenting insights to leadership; and you bring both empathy and energy to your partnerships.
What You'll Bring:
- 5+ years' experience in commercial lending, alternative finance, or financial services, ideally with a broker-led GTM model.
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to interpret financial statements, cash flow, and growth potential.
- A proactive, solutions-driven mindset; the confidence to identify challenges and resolve them independently.
- Exceptional communication and relationship skills; able to influence, educate, and build trust across varied stakeholders.
If you're passionate about helping founders and small business owners unlock growth — and want to work at the intersection of finance, technology, and entrepreneurship — this role could be your next big move.
