Description

About the Role: 

MPK is seeking experienced Fitters to join our project in the Surat Basin on a 14:7 roster. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks across our fleet of equipment, consisting of earthmoving machinery, trucks, trailers, specialised equipment, light vehicles as well as undertake the occasional smaller, ad hoc jobs. They will be able to assist with loading and unloading of plant and freight.

 Day to day tasks will involve:  

  • Service and repairs of all equipment 
  • Rebuilds and overhauls 
  • Creation of new equipment, building and assembly 
  • Conducting daily prestart meetings & filling out of JHAs as required
  • Guiding and sharing information with the team of fitters as required
  • Travel to worksites if and when needed


Skills And Experiences

About you: 

  • Relevant trade qualification (required)
  • Heavy vehicle and earthmoving experience (preferred)
  • Good understanding of scan & diagnostic's tools for both aftermarket suppliers and OEM's  
  • Understanding of hydraulic & electrical systems and repairs 
  • Welding and fabrication skills (valuable)
  • Ability to manage, locate and order stock/spare parts
  • Ability to work unsupervised on the task
  • Ability to be creative and work outside normal tasks with repairs on specialised equipment
