Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) – 3-Year-Old Kindergarten

BiraBira Early Learning Centre – Cheltenham

Part-time: 37.5 hours per week (including planning time)

Start Date: December 2025 or January 2026

Pay: 10% above Award with a further 5% increase in December 2025. Hourly rate negotiable according to level and experience.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) with a minimum of 2 years' experience to lead our 3-year-old kindergarten program.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver a high-quality curriculum aligned with the EYLF, NQS, and Child Safe Standards.
  • Use School Readiness Funding strategically to meet curriculum and community needs.
  • Plan engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that inspire learning and growth.
  • Build strong relationships with families to extend children's learning outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of three educators (including a second kinder teacher and a Cert III educator).
  • Create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive environment where children thrive.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Host biannual parent–teacher interviews and an annual information evening.

Essential Attributes & Skills

  • Deep understanding of the EYLF and NQS.
  • Strong knowledge of the Child Safe Standards (CCYP).
  • Extensive experience delivering programs for 3–5-year-olds.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A professional, mature, and reflective approach to teaching.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (No Graduate Diplomas – applications will not be considered).
  • Current VIT Registration (or working towards).
  • Up-to-date certifications: Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC).
