Senior Engineer - Data Engineering
The purpose of our Data practice at Slalom is to build a better future with Data. Through trusted partnerships with our clients, we co-create modern data solutions that drive results and improve the world. We blend design, engineering, and expertise to help them build the future.
What You'll Do?
- Work in teams with minimal oversight and direction to deliver innovative solutions on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform using core cloud data warehouse tools, distributed processing engines, event streaming platforms, and other modern data related technologies.
- build the next generation of data platforms and work with some of the most forward-thinking organizations in data and analytics.
- Work under the direction of a Solution Architect to help design and implement components of our clients' data platform solution.
- Participate in design sessions and be able to break down complex development tasks, and complete development items on time.
What will you bring?
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering
- Proficiency in SQL and Python modern programming language
- Strong experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred; Azure and GCP also valued)
- Experience with tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, or similar
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL best practices, and data warehousing
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps/DataOps practices
- Comfortable working in Agile environments and using version control tools like Git
- A curious, client-focused mindset with a passion for learning and experimenting with new technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and share insights with the team
- Experience working with NoSQL Databases: DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, MongoDB
- Experience with Modern Data Workflows: Apache Airflow, dbt, Dagster
- AI/ML Tools: Amazon SageMaker, Azure ML Studio (beneficial but not essential)
