We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Strategic Engagement to lead our talented team and drive initiatives that strengthen our brand, deepen community connections, and elevate our voice across the sector.
About the RoleAs the Manager, Strategic Engagement, you will:
- Lead the development and delivery of Meli's Communications, Marketing, Events, and Community Engagement strategies.
- Oversee three interdependent teams—Corporate Communications, Community Partnerships and Campaigns, and Marketing and Events—to ensure alignment with Meli's strategic goals.
- Provide expert guidance on brand positioning, media engagement, stakeholder relationships, and inclusive communication practices.
- Collaborate across the organisation to build capacity, drive innovation, and ensure consistent, impactful messaging.
- Represent Meli in key networks and public forums, building strong relationships with media, donors, and community partners.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- A proven track record in senior leadership roles, with the ability to influence strategic direction and outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, with a focus on accessibility and inclusion.
- Experience managing competing priorities, building brand recognition, and cultivating strategic partnerships.
- A deep understanding of the community services sector and a commitment to Meli's values and purpose.
