Exal Construction is the construction arm of Exal Group, a development company established and based in Perth with various upcoming projects in its pipeline. The ongoing projects under construction are a childcare, 900+ bed purpose built student accommodation, and a 7 storey unit luxury residential apartment project.

We are looking for a Graduate Contract Administrator to work with our construction teams on a full-time basis. The role will be office based during premobilisation and will primarily be to assist with the tendering and administration of subcontractor packages. The role will then progress onto a site based role.

The role will be suited for high achieving graduates looking for a challenge and to build your career in commercial construction. You will be reporting to the construction manager while being supported by fellow experienced contract administrators.

The job scope will include but not limited to:

  1. Procurement: tendering for, assessing and recommending subcontractors and suppliers
  2. Cost control: assess and process progress claims and forecast cost
  3. Project documentation and record keeping: maintain comprehensive records, reports, minutes to accurately capture project related matters
  4. Design coordination: coordinate design team as required to resolve design issues
  5. Stakeholder liaison: deal with approving authorities, government agencies and stakeholders
  6. Contract closeout: complete final accounts and project documentation

Role requirements:

  • Self motivated and resourceful
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management or similar field
  • Good understanding of contract, procurement, insurance, contract negotiation and cost management functions
  • Detailed orientated and has a good understanding of processes
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
