As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting and shaping the future of Engineering at CommBank, championing cutting-edge solutions and fostering innovation that drives real-world impact.

While the Payment Domain is part of the Business Banking unit, its reach extends to every part of the Bank. The team consists of engineers and technology leaders with a diverse set of skills to support this transformation.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll be a key team member, providing technology and domain expertise to shape technical strategy. You'll deliver complex initiatives across the payments platforms and systems

We're interested in hearing from people who

• Have extensive experience with AWS services and ETL tools (AWS Lambda, S3, EMR, Glue, Redshift, Cloudwatch, IAM)
• Bring hands on experience working with Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Cloudformation, CDK etc
• Have in depth experience using scripting/programming languages such as PowerShell, Bash & Python or Java/Typescript
• Posses strong knowledge of CI/CD and automation tools like Github, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, CI/CD pipeline desirable
• Are comfortable in automation of observability logs and metrices, including dashboard, monitoring and alerting
• Are knowledgeable with incident management, post incident reviews, problem management
• Have demonstratable experience in solving complex problems

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• AWS infrastructure (Lambda, S3, EMR, Glue, Redshift, Cloudwatch, IAM)
• Languages: Typescript, Java, Python
• Experience with and knowledge of CI/CD and automation tools like Github, GitHub Action, TeamCity, CI/CD pipeline desirable
• Exposure to GenAI models- Desirable
• Automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
• Source control, and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, GitHub actions, Jenkins, Octopus.
• Infrastructure as code pipelines and automation.
• Observability with Grafana and Prometheus.
