We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher (Secondary) to join our growing teaching team from January 2026. This full-time role provides an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging and relevant Science learning to students from Years 7 to 10, with the potential to teach ATAR subjects such as Chemistry, Biology or Physics in the upper secondary years.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning, developing and delivering inspiring Science lessons aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and a biblical worldview.
  • Creating a stimulating and well-organised learning environment that fosters curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Demonstrating expertise in subject knowledge and assessment practices across Years 7–10, and preferably in upper school ATAR Science courses.
  • Supporting student wellbeing and behavioural growth through participation in pastoral care programs.
  • Providing meaningful feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and personal development.
  • Collaborating with staff and contributing to the wider life of the school, including academic, spiritual, sporting and cultural activities.
  • Upholding SCEA's Christian ethos and policies, including the Staff Code of Conduct.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • A personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and active involvement in a Christian church.
  • Alignment with SCEA's Statement of Faith and Foundational Beliefs, and a lifestyle consistent with these statements.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Science education.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
  • Strong knowledge of the Western Australian Science Curriculum, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Proven ability to personalise learning to meet a range of student needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable

  • Experience teaching ATAR subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, or Physics.
  • Familiarity with integrating Christian perspectives into curriculum content.
  • Ability to contribute to co-curricular or extra-curricular programs.
