RSL Victoria - The Returned & Services League, Victorian Branch is the largest and oldest veteran charity in the state. We provide programs, services and initiatives to help improve the lives of veterans and their families, raise funds to support services through our appeals, lead commemoration of service, overarching leadership to our network of 260+ Sub-Branches and represent approximately 200,000 members on veteran related issues.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional leader to join our team as Manager - Military Compensation. In this role you will lead a dedicated and passionate team supporting serving and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with compensation support and advocacy.
The Manager maintains oversight of all services within this program, which include military liability and compensation claims, retrospective invalidity separation, Ombudsman support and legal assistance pathways for matter outside these service steams.
This position is responsible for driving program excellence, supporting Sub-Branches in service delivery, and ensuring that veterans and their families receive timely, accurate and effective assistance.
The key deliverables of the role are:
- Lead and provide oversight of the distributed program teams, influencing a culture of high performance within acceptable workload management to meet program outcomes.
- Establish and maintain stakeholder networks, providing education and influence, to implement a consistent best practice program and service models across RSL Victoria State Branch and its Sub-Branches.
- Gather and provide feedback from employees, volunteers, and clients for the continuous improvement of the program.
About you
You are a seasoned leader with the confidence to take on a challenging yet rewarding role. The team is widespread across Victoria and regular travel is essential to stay in touch, build relationships and provide optimal support. Tertiary qualifications in leadership and management will be highly regarded.
You will require significant experience interpreting Legislation and/or the Level 3 Advocacy Training & Development Program and experience in this field is essential. A tertiary legal qualification will also be highly desirable with experience working in a legal or compensation setting.
