Ulan West is an established, efficient, and high production underground longwall coal mining operation in the western coalfields of NSW. With state-of-the-art mining equipment, the latest technologies, and best in class safety practices, we are leading exporters in thermal coal.

As an Underground Fitter, you will:

  • Work as part of a dedicated crew to operate and maintain machinery and equipment to accomplish safe production and maintenance activities;

  • Maintain effective maintenance practices and fault finding on complex mechanical systems including:

  • continuous miners

  • automated longwall systems
  • surface and underground conveyors
  • air and water management infrastructure;
  • Maintain compliance and complete inspections in accordance with Engineering Management plans and the Maintenance Management System, and complete reports in a legible and accurate manner.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Have a mechanical trade qualification;
  • Have experience working in heavy industry, defence or heavy diesel on a range of complex mechanical plant;
  • Be an exceptional team member with a can-do attitude;
  • Hold an absolute commitment to safety and safe working practices.
  • Experience working in an underground longwall coal mining operation is desirable, although not essential.
