Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Hindi-speaking Support Worker to assist an NDIS participant in Cammeray (Sydney). The ideal candidate will provide person-centred support tailored to the participant's needs, promote independence, and help achieve daily living and community participation goals in accordance with their NDIS plan.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary depending on the specific needs and goals of the client, and may include:

  • Providing personal care assistance, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Supporting with meal preparation, light household tasks, and medication reminders.
  • Assisting with community access, including appointments, social, and recreational activities.
  • Offering companionship and emotional support in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner.
  • Communicating effectively in Hindi and English to ensure comfort and understanding.
  • Maintaining accurate daily progress notes, reports, and communication logs.
  • Following individual support plans, behaviour management strategies, and risk assessments.
  • Adhering to NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Standards and organisational procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Support Worker or in a similar community care role.
  • Fluent in Hindi and English (spoken and written).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Police Check (current).
  • First Aid and CPR certification (HLTAID011).
  • COVID-19 vaccination as per government guidelines.
  • Valid Driver's Licence and reliable, insured vehicle.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services.
  • Experience working with NDIS participants or clients with similar support needs.
  • Understanding of cultural diversity and sensitivity to client preferences.
