The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role (70% technical, 30% people leadership). You will balance the realities of maintaining and enhancing existing legacy systems with the opportunity to strengthen and expand our modern API and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep .NET and profound API expertise, strong database skills, and experience across a diverse integration stack, while mentoring engineers and driving best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction across the squad's integration stack, including databases, APIs, legacy services, and cloud components.
- Write, review, and maintain high-quality, secure code in .NET (Core and Framework).
- Ensure reliability of file-based and SFTP-based integrations while strengthening our REST API platform in Azure.
- Establish and enforce standards for API development, monitoring, error handling, and documentation.
- Guide modernization of existing .NET and SQL workloads, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.
Desired Experience And Competencies
- 7-10 years of software engineering experience, with a product background and at least 3 years in a hands-on leadership role.
- Proven success delivering complex integration and API solutions, with the ability to talk through real-world examples: explaining design decisions, challenges and outcomes.
- Strong .NET, database expertise.
- This squad work early mornings (7am) and weekends as required, to a monthly release cycle. This role will be available to support the team during these hours. Additionally, our platform releases happen once a month, on a Sunday.
