Trade Assistant / HR Driver (Allrounder)
– Heavy Fabrication Workshop
We're looking for a reliable and versatile
Trade Assistant with an HR truck licence
to join a busy
heavy fabrication and machining workshop
supporting large industrial and mining projects.

This role suits someone who enjoys variety - one day you might be assisting trades on the workshop floor, the next driving a truck for local deliveries or helping with spray painting and general maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist tradespeople with fabrication, machining, assembly and workshop duties
  • Operate HR trucks for local pickups/deliveries when required
  • Prepare and spray paint large, fabricated components
  • Use hand and power tools for grinding, drilling, cleaning, and prepping metal work
  • General workshop and yard housekeeping
  • Support safe handling of heavy materials and equipment

Skills & Experience

  • Current HR Truck Licence (required)
  • Previous experience in a fabrication, mechanical, or machine shop environment preferred
  • Confident using hand tools, grinders, and spray equipment
  • Able to follow direction and work safely around heavy equipment
  • Physically fit and comfortable working around large steel components
