We are currently seeking a Technical Services Specialist from a surface coatings background to join our team at Clayton. The successful candidate will plan, direct and execute all projects related to providing prime COIL and GI technical service support to internal and external ANZ customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical service to ANZ COIL and GI customers in the entire paint process to meet required quality and cost targets.
  • Ensure the effective performance of PPG COIL and GI products through problem solving and process improvement suggestions.
  • Provide technical support to Clayton COIL and GI Operations, involving addressing significant technical issues and sample testing.
  • Preparing and submitting product technical information documentation for customers as directed by Technical Manager.
  • Provide technical support for operation of the laboratory equipment in Clayton R&D and Clayton operations.
  • Ensure that the business is conducted within Company & statutory E&HS regulations & maintains QS 9000 & other accreditations within the PPG guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent with a chemistry major or significant scientific knowledge gained on the job.
  • 4+ years' experience in the surface coatings industry, with a background in product development and technical service.
  • Specialist COIL and GI technical service experience and knowledge of customers diverse needs.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • The ability to write and present reports.
