The Opportunity
We are seeking a National Manager - Network to lead our network capability strategy, drive innovation, and optimise network performance. This leadership role will focus on building and managing national network capabilities, ensuring seamless connectivity, security, and scalability across our operations. YOU WILL NEED TO BE AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN TO BE EILIGBLE FOR THIS ROLE.
As a key strategic leader, you will oversee network architecture, team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and technology integration, working alongside high-performing professionals in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a national network capability strategy aligned with business objectives and emerging technology trends.
- Network Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and performance of network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and coach a team of network professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to align network capabilities with business needs.
- Performance & Compliance: Define KPIs, monitor network performance, and ensure adherence to security, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Technology & Innovation: Drive the adoption of next-generation technologies, including Cloud Networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNets), SD-WAN, Zero Trust, AI-driven networking, and automation tools (Ansible, Cisco DNA Center).
- Risk & Cost Management: Develop cost-effective strategies, manage network budgets, and mitigate potential risks through proactive planning.
What You Bring
- A proven track record in managing, mentoring, and coaching network professionals in a leadership capacity.
- Experience establishing and managing a national network capability, ensuring operational excellence and scalability.
- Expertise in network architecture, performance optimisation, and strategic IT initiatives.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and conflict management skills, with the ability to drive business outcomes.
- Exceptional business acumen, emotional intelligence, and the ability to motivate teams across multiple business areas.
- Deep technical knowledge of:
- Cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNets)
- Network automation (Ansible, Cisco DNA Center)
- Emerging technologies (SD-WAN, Zero Trust, AI-driven networks)
- Firewall security (Juniper, Palo Alto, Check Point, F5)
- Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios)
Qualifications & Certifications
- Industry-recognised Network & Security Certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCNA, CCIE).
- TOGAF certification is highly desirable.
- AUSTRALIAN CITXIZENSHIP
