The Opportunity
As Head Chef, you'll be the driving force behind our kitchen operations and culinary identity. From designing innovative, gluten-free-friendly menus to mentoring a talented kitchen brigade, you'll play a pivotal role in every aspect of our culinary journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily kitchen operations with a focus on efficiency, consistency, and quality
- Design seasonal menus with a strong emphasis on gluten-free dishes, house-made bread and pasta
- Oversee production of all house-made items, ensuring Coeliac safety standards are met
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on best practices and Coeliac protocols
- Manage inventory, supplier relationships, and cost control measures
- Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Collaborate with the management team on promotions, special events, and operational improvements
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a Head Chef who is both a strong leader and a passionate craftsman. You must have deep experience in menu creation, bread and pasta-making, and managing a fast-paced professional kitchen. Experience with gluten-free or allergen-safe cooking practices is highly preferred.
You'll Need:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in professional kitchens, including 2+ years in a leadership or Head Chef role
- Proven ability to design and execute innovative, balanced menus
- Skilled in artisanal bread and fresh pasta preparation
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, costing, staffing, and scheduling
- Experience in maintaining allergen-safe environments (Coeliac knowledge is a strong plus)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and training abilities
- A hands-on approach and commitment to upholding the restaurant's values and reputation
