At Finity, you'll be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team working alongside actuaries, data scientists, engineers and software developers. Our products include rating engines, underwriting platforms, geospatial tools, climate risk models, and other API-driven solutions—designed to help our clients make faster and better-informed business decisions.
The Role
We are looking for a curious and motivated Analyst to join our Software, Data & AI Solutions team, based in Sydney or Melbourne. In this role, you will support the design and delivery of web, API, and AI-enabled solutions for insurance-specific tools and services. You'll work closely with experienced consultants, product leaders, and AI specialists, gaining hands-on exposure to real projects and developing your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
Consulting & Client Engagement
- Support senior consultants in gathering and analysing client needs.
- Help prepare clear, simple materials that explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and project documentation.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Contribute to translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Assist in developing and testing software, data, and AI-enabled solutions alongside technical experts.
- Take ownership of smaller technical tasks, ensuring they meet agreed quality standards.
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work with cross-functional teams of consultants, engineers, and analysts.
- Learn from and contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions on software, data, and AI applications.
- Collaborate with peers and provide support where possible.
Growth & Learning
- Stay curious about new technologies, tools, and methods in software, data, and AI.
- Build skills through structured learning, certifications, and mentoring.
- Contribute to internal initiatives and innovation projects as you grow in confidence and capability.
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Education / Background: Degree in computer science, data science, actuarial studies, engineering, mathematics, or related discipline.
- Programming Skills: Exposure to programming (e.g., Python, SQL, or similar). Academic, project, or internship experience is welcome.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex problems and contribute to logical solutions.
- Curiosity & Learning Mindset: Eagerness to build skills in software development, data science, and AI.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and learn from others.
- Communication: Comfortable explaining technical ideas simply, both verbally and in writing.
- Bonus (nice-to-have, not required): Familiarity with APIs, databases, or machine learning concepts (through study, projects, or internships).
