At 1816 Bakehouse, we're driven by a love of real ingredients, slow methods, and the craft of baking done properly.

We're looking for a Pastry Chef to join our small, passionate team — someone who loves making things by hand and takes pride in the details that make great food memorable.

What you'll be doing

  • Creating artisan pastries, tarts and cakes that showcase skill and seasonality
  • Assisting with our growing range of sandwiches and savoury items
  • Helping shape and refine our menu with fresh ideas
  • Working alongside our bakers and café team to keep quality high and consistent
  • Keeping your space clean, organised and calm

About you

You're a maker at heart. You understand that great pastry is equal parts technique, timing and care. You'll bring:

  • Experience in a bakery or patisserie environment
  • Strong pastry and cake-making skills
  • A good eye for finish and presentation
  • A genuine love of local produce and handcrafted food
  • A team mindset — we all pitch in where needed
