Potter Excavations is a second-generation civil construction and bulk earthworks contractor local to the NSW Riverina region. With over 40 years of operation out of Balranald, it's safe to say the Potter name is a strong part of the community.

Founded in 1983 by husband and wife – Rocky and Dawn – the company has grown in size, experience and knowledge. Potters has delivered a wide variety of works supporting all facets of the local industry, from helping farmers, local businesses and municipalities right up to building and constructing large haul roads for mines in the area.

About the role

Due to planned growth with the team, we are currently seeking an experienced Grader Operator to assist the business in the delivery of civil works. Starting with Potter's you can expect to undertake the following duties:

  • Direction of site teams in preparing and constructing roads, other civil structures.
  • Grading of surfaces up to final trim
  • Undertaking vehicle prestart and working in with our servicing team on general equipment upkeep
  • Using GPS mapping systems such as Trimble
  • Working closely with project superintendents and client representatives to deliver scope of works

About You

To be considered for this role you will need to show the following prior experience:

  • 5+ years experience in road construction working on a grader
  • Nationally recognised certification (RII)
  • Construction White Card
  • GPS systems experience required, Trimble is a bonus
  • Leadership experience is a bonus
  • Experience on CAT 150 & 160 or John Deere 772 & 872 machines would be ideal
  • Safely operate and maintain machinery
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and DAS.
