About the role:

Are you passionate about youth mental health and ready to make a real impact in your community? At headspace Emerald, we're on the lookout for an enthusiastic Cultural Diversity Community Engagement Worker to join our supportive, purposed-driven team.

In this role, you'll help to bridge gaps, build trust and promote mental wellbeing among young people. This role is all about making a meaningful impact through community engagement, education and advocacy.

What will a typical day look like?

  • Coordinate and deliver community awareness activities to promote headspace services.
  • Engage and support young people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, and LGBTIQA+ backgrounds.
  • Develop and implement a Community Awareness Strategy focused on inclusion and mental health literacy.
  • Organise health promotion events and special activities to encourage help-seeking and reduce stigma.
  • Build strong relationships with community networks and represent headspace across agencies.
  • Support youth participation through the Youth Reference Group and co-create promotional materials.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Youth Worker/Community Services or similar field
  • 2 years relevant experience

headspace is Australia's National Young Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to year-olds. What you will bring to the role:

  • A passion and genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of Central Queenslanders.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • The ability to identify and embed solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a high-performance framework where you are accountable for KPIs on program delivery and outcomes, within a face-paced solutions focussed environment.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • A strong communicator, able to quickly build rapport and influence across a diverse range of people.

  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
