As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you'll be the face of Groupon to small and medium businesses across Australia—connecting them with customers through our platform. From day one, you'll receive hands-on training and mentorship to help you build your career in sales.

You'll learn everything from sales strategy and psychology to relationship building and negotiation, giving you the tools to thrive now and in the future.

You'll spend your time on the following:

  • Prospect and connect with local businesses offering experiences Australians love—restaurants, wellness, activities, and more.
    • Use cold calling, consultative selling, and closing skills to bring new partners onto the Groupon platform.
  • Understand each business—what makes them unique, who their customers are, and how Groupon can help them grow.
  • Structure deals that create win-win outcomes for both the merchant and Groupon.
  • Lead contract discussions, managing key terms, margins, and discounts.
  • Consistently hit (and aim to exceed) your sales targets.
  • Partner with our Merchant Development team post-sale to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term success.
  • Drive market growth by onboarding high-quality merchants and expanding local revenue.

We're excited about you if you:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2–3 years' proven success in sales—ideally in inside sales, telesales, or working with SMB clients.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a natural ability to build relationships.
  • A solid record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Commercial awareness and good judgment when making decisions.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and proactive—you stay positive under pressure.
  • Comfortable with change and creative in finding smart solutions.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools is a plus.

This is a hybrid role based in Sydney, with three days a week in our George Street office and the rest working remotely.
