At Little Sisters of the Poor Aged Care Ltd, our mission is to offer the elderly a home where they are cared for with dignity, compassion, and respect—just like family. Located in Glendalough, our warm and welcoming aged care home supports 60 residents in a homely and spiritually enriching environment. We are close to public transport and offer ample onsite parking.

You will be part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, supported by experienced professionals who are passionate about enriching the lives of our residents.


About the Role

We are currently seeking an energetic and inspiring Leisure and Lifestyle Team Member to join our dedicated team. In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging leisure and recreational programs that enhance the psychological, emotional, spiritual, social, and cultural wellbeing of our residents. This is a full-time position, with shift hours from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact each day within a supportive and purpose-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Registered Nurse and Lifestyle Coordinator in assessing each resident's needs, preferences, and potential barriers to participation.
  • Develop and implement individualised activity programs to meet the diverse needs of residents.
  • Facilitate both individual and group-based activities, aligned with residents' interests and abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with families, volunteers, community groups, and other healthcare professionals to enhance resident engagement.
  • Encourage continued community involvement and social inclusion for residents.
  • Provide mealtime support in dining areas to promote a positive and independent dining experience.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes, in line with organisational policies and standards.

About You

  • Passionate about making a difference in the lives of the elderly.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Organised and creative in designing person-centred activities for varying physical and cognitive abilities.
  • Comfortable engaging with external stakeholders to plan and coordinate events.
  • Able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
  • Computer literate and able to maintain accurate records.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or equivalent (highly regarded).
  • Previous experience in a similar role in aged care (highly desirable).
  • Valid Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
