Position Title

An excellent opportunity exists for an Exceptional Lifestyle Assistant who has a passion for working with the aging community and is committed to providing quality lifestyle options for residents living at The Queenslea, Claremont.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the assessment of the resident individual needs for leisure and lifestyle activities.
  • Assist in the development of and actively promote a monthly calendar of scheduled leisure and lifestyle events to ensure all residents, families/representatives and staff are aware of upcoming activities.
  • Assist residents to participate in all leisure and lifestyle activities of choice (including outings and excursions) and meet daily living needs, in a manner that supports the independence of residents.
  • Coordinate and assist with appropriate leisure and lifestyle activities for all residents of the home with due consideration to individual resident interests, culture, preferences and capabilities.
  • Actively cultivate and promote ties with community organisations, clergy, volunteers, students, relatives/representatives to maximise resident's socialisation.
  • Demonstrates excellence in customer service at all times.

About You

The successful Exceptional Lifestyle Assistant will work closely with our highly experienced Lifestyle Manager

  • You are Resident Focused;
  • Have excellent communication with people of all ages
  • Are able to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Are organised and understand the importance of documentation
  • Are physically fit
  • Are able to be flexible and adapt to different situations as required
  • Competent in Arts and Crafts
  • Are genuine in your desire to make a difference in our Resident's day to day lives and bring happiness, positivity and joy to work everyday.
  • Have a good understanding of working with people living with Dementia
  • A good sense of humour and a can do attitude is a must

Requirements for the Role

  • Certificate III or IV in Leisure and Health or the equivalent is desirable
  • Previous experience in the delivery of lifestyle programs in a Residential Aged Care setting
  • Ability to contribute to the assessment of each residents social and emotional needs and develop and implement appropriate, individual lifestyle programs to meet their needs
  • Self-motivation with well-developed organisational, skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Well-developed computer skills
