Your Next RoleAs the Site Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance across our Queensland sites and associated warehouse operations. This role goes beyond the numbers — partnering closely with operational leaders to optimise results, strengthen financial governance, and connect on-site activity with divisional and group-level reporting. It's an opportunity to make a real impact while supporting one of Australia's most respected timber manufacturing groups.
- All our people go home in the same condition they came to work; safety before production.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts with variance analysis and key business insights.
- Partner with site and operational leaders to understand performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide clear insights into cost performance, production efficiency, and financial drivers to support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning and investment proposals.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and monitor capital projects to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Ensure all journals, reconciliations, and reporting meet Group standards and deadlines.
- Continuously improve site financial processes and reporting tools for greater accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate across the finance team and broader business to support consistency, governance, and continuous improvement.
You will be based at our plant in the Tuan Forest, located in the beautiful Fraser Coast region. This coastal town offers affordable living and is proudly home to Queensland's greatest icons including K'gari.
About you
- Accounting degree with at least three years' accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing organisation.
- Excellent time management skills and be able to work effectively to deadlines.
- Sound knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of current accounting, reporting and auditing standards.
- Working knowledge of large ERP systems, and advanced spreadsheet skills is highly desirable.
