The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Engineering Coordinator to join our Head Office (Seven Hills) in a full-time, permanent role. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from estimating, planning and design to delivery and client engagement. This hands-on role includes preparing technical documentation, assisting with estimation, coordinating deliverables, production support, ensuring compliance with standards and supporting continuous improvement, while providing engineering expertise and project management support.
The Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare project estimates, budgets and quotations, ensuring accuracy across Bills of Materials (BOMs), subcontractor inputs, and client scopes.
- Review and control project scope, variations, and budgets, including preparation of Contract Change Proposals (CCPs) and Extensions of Time (EoTs).
- Develop and maintain project schedules, forecasts and job openings within SAP.
- Deliver practical engineering solutions through design, analysis, documentation and quality control.
- Prepare and review technical documentation such as ITPs, SWMS, Risk Assessments, MDRs and QC records.
- Oversee production quality, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, codes, and client specifications.
- Coordinate material procurement and subcontractor services, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Review and issue detailed workshop drawings with accurate fabrication details and revision control.
- Provide clear, proactive communication with internal stakeholders, workshop teams, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
- Participate in client and contractor meetings, providing engineering input and resolving project issues as they arise.
The Ideal Candidate:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or suitable long standing experience
4+ years' experience in a relevant engineering or steel manufacturing function
Intermediate MS Office skills
Desirable:
- Member in good standing of a professional engineering association or equivalent
- Proven ability to project manage small to medium-sized projects
- Defence industry experience
