Are you a skilled Data Governance Specialist? Join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a greenfield program, where you'll help shape and implement data governance from the ground up. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring our data assets are well-defined, effectively managed, and securely protected—empowering the organisation to make confident, data-driven decisions.

Key Accountabilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external data-related regulations.
- Define roles and responsibilities to establish clear accountability across the organisation.
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality and establish consistent data definitions.
- Collaborate with IT, Legal, Cybersecurity, and business units to implement governance strategies.
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and conduct data quality assessments.
- Engage stakeholders to align data governance initiatives with business needs.
- Assist the Data Governance Manager with the rollout and ongoing implementation of the governance strategy roadmap.
About You
You're a detail-oriented professional with a passion for data integrity and governance. You bring a collaborative mindset and strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and drive change.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in data governance, data quality, or data management roles.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, modelling, and database design.
- Familiarity with metadata frameworks and their role in governance.
- Hands-on experience with data cataloguing and governance tools.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices.
- Experience identifying Critical Data Elements (CDEs), defining and documenting data lineage (both technical and logical), conducting assessments of key data risks and controls, defining data quality rules and standards, and supporting data issue management and resolution processes.
- Experience with platforms such as Databricks, SAP Datasphere, AWS Redshift, SAP S/4HANA, and Microsoft Purview (desirable but not mandatory).
- Exposure to data governance platforms such as Alation, Informatica, or Collibra (desirable).
- Preferred certifications: CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) and DCAM (Data Management Capability Assessment Model)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
