We are seeking a Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our organisation and lead the implementation of a proactive, people-centred approach to health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace. This role will be instrumental in fostering safer and healthier work environments and supporting the ongoing enhancement of organisational wellbeing practices.

As a Safety and Wellbeing Advisor, you will collaborate with teams across all business units to deliver expert Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) guidance and cultivate a culture of safety, inclusion, and wellbeing at every organisational level. In this role, you will be instrumental in implementing risk management strategies, supporting regulatory compliance, and leading innovative safety and wellbeing initiatives that create meaningful impact.
You will join an outstanding Safety and Wellbeing team, engaging with multiple departments that possess diverse safety requirements. Your expertise and experience will be pivotal in driving positive change in workplace safety standards.
We operate with flexibility to meet personal and organisational requirements. Given the collaborative aspects of this role, which involves partnership with internal stakeholders across the organisation, you will be required to work onsite at a Council location for a minimum of three days per week.
What you'll bring/what we are looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Risk Management and/or acceptable equivalent, plus demonstrated experience in a similar role is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence a broad range of internal stakeholders.
- Ability to build awareness, capability and engagement around safety to establish a sustainable, ingrained positive safety culture.
- Experience in developing and implementing Safety and Wellbeing initiatives that promote an effective OH&S culture and a proactive approach to the identification, management and prevention of risks.
- Experience in the delivery of safety technical advice, to minimise risk across a diverse workforce.
- Ability to undertake incident investigations.
Pre-employment requirements
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC).
- Working With Children's Check.

- Salary $94, $102,712.38 per annum plus super.
