**About the role
The purpose of this RN Developmental Role is to upskill and learn expert clinical knowledge and care for clients seeking treatment for substance use dependence and other co-morbidities.
This temporary RN Developmental position will allow aspiring registered nurses from areas of Nursing outside of the Alcohol and Drug Service, to develop their triage, assessment, formulation, case management and referral skills, as well as enhance autonomy and problem-solving abilities in Drug and Alcohol Nursing.
The Developmental Registered Nurse (RN) role provides contemporary evidence-based client focused care, education, leadership, and portfolio management. Treatment modalities provided by our medicalised units include opioid substitution treatment, substance withdrawal management and counselling. The RN will upskill in provision of these treatment modalities and will provide ongoing case management and co-ordination of care in Opioid Dependence Treatment settings, with the support of the Clinical Nurses and additional training, according to the key accountabilities in the role description.
All services are delivered in an outpatient clinic at Chermside, at Chermside Community Health Centre and The Prince Charles Hospital, Monday - Friday, during business hours.Health Equity
