Alexandria Park Community School is a proud and vibrant Kindergarten to Year 12 community school. There are currently over 1300 students; approximately 54% of students are from families with language backgrounds other than English and 17% are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. The school has an Opportunity Class in Year 5 and Year 6, a Selective Stream in Year 7 to Year 10 for high potential and gifted students and support classes in Primary and High school. Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Demonstrates exemplary skills to work collaboratively with the school's executive team to lead, manage and implement whole school initiatives for improved student learning outcomes
Demonstrated capacity to lead whole-school professional learning aligned with school priorities, staff PDP goals, and evidence-based teaching practices including purposeful assessment and consistent teacher judgement
Proven ability to drive whole school cross faculty processes to ensure consistent implementation of assessment, reporting and accreditation procedure
Highly developed organisational, interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships and lead teams to support the development of school culture based on high expectations
Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
