Who could you be at GHD?

In Brisbane, our Contamination, Assessment, Remediation and Hyrdogeology team is on the lookout for our next graduate in 2026  Based out of our Brisbane or Gold Coast office, and with a degree in Environmental Science / Engineering or relevant science or engineering discipline (Geology or Hydrogeology), your interest in getting out into the field on a wide variety of projects throughout Queensland and Northern NSW and beyond will serve you in good stead in this position.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Field oversight of contractors;
  • Assistance with field scope development, scheduling, budgeting
  • Assistance with data compilation and interpretation
  • Preparation of technical environmental reports for senior review
  • Maintain safety training to conduct environmental contaminated sites work
  • Active participation in industry bodies like ACLCA and ALGA to represent the GHD brand and participate in development opportunities

     

Our two-year Graduate Development Program is designed to give you a smooth start to your consulting career. Alongside your peers, managers and mentors, we'll help you detangle any challenges along the way.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Will graduate by December 2025 with a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in environmental consulting or similar
  • Has a strong interest in chemistry, soil, geology, groundwater, contamination assessment, and remediation methods
  • Knowledge of contaminated sites/pollution regulation and associated guidance, protocols, and guidelines
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication is required to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences including subcontractors, clients, colleagues, etc.
  • Strong technical writing, data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Valid full driver's license and is comfortable with long distance and off-road driving (training will be provided).

  • Offer: Congratulations If you're successful, we'll talk through all the finer details, like salary, your start date, and our background checking process.
