Reporting to the General Manager – People and Culture, this pivotal role will lead enterprise bargaining, manage industrial frameworks and ensure compliance with workplace law – all while building strong, respectful relationships with unions, employees and internal stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the overarching IR strategy for KAEFER and develop and implement strategies to minimise industrial risk.
  • Lead enterprise bargaining negotiations and administer industrial instruments.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with unions and industry representatives.
  • Provide expert advice on industrial relations and employment law to leaders and P&C representatives to guide strategic decision making.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industrial laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement contemporary IR frameworks and policies that drive compliance and engagement.
  • Manager IR matters in accordance with relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Support consultation processes in respect of major change.
  • Provide coaching and support to leaders and P&C representatives to build internal capability and understanding of IR practices.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on industrial relations activities and outcome.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Hr, IR or a related field
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in IR roles, ideally within Construction or Mining Services industry and operating in a workplace with multiple Enterprise Agreements.
  • Proven success in enterprise bargaining and union engagement.
  • Experience conducting BOOT assessment and managing remuneration structures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict management, and relationship building skills.
  • A collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.

This role can be based from one of our offices in Queensland (Brisbane, Mackay or Gladstone) with regular travel across the states to lead negotiations and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
