The Average Day:

  • Deliver engaging, inquiry-based science lessons that spark curiosity in Years 5 and 6.
  • Bring learning to life by guiding younger students to plant, harvest, and care for the earth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to weave sustainability concepts across the wider Junior School curriculum.
  • Care for and maintain the productive school garden alongside students, building practical skills and environmental responsibility.
  • Celebrate student learning by connecting science and gardening to real-world problem-solving and community projects.

The Person:

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • A passion for inspiring young learners through science, sustainability, and hands-on experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum, with the ability to design engaging, inquiry-based lessons.
  • Practical gardening skills and an enthusiasm for embedding sustainability into everyday learning.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with students, colleagues, and the wider school community.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and initiative to foster curiosity and ecological responsibility across the Junior School.

A valid Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) registration is a requirement of employment in this position.
