Primary objective
Coordinate and provide high level services and advice on the delivery of workplace culture, wellbeing initiatives and programs to
improve retention and engagement of employees.
Context statement
The People, Safety and Culture branch is responsible for leading workforce strategies to attract, retain and develop capability to
build a skilled and committed workforce within a supported, safe and connected environment. The branch provides support
services across the agency (including regions) on workforce matters with a focus on employee wellbeing and culture, workforce
planning, work health and safety, employee onboarding, business improvement support, recruitment and training and capability.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop and implement programs and strategies outlined in the agency's workforce plans to improve culture and wellbeing.
2. Develop, implement and monitor the agency's onboarding process for all new employees and provide guidance to management.
3. Develop, promote, monitor and evaluate the agency's employee wellbeing program and Social Club activities, events and
fundraisers.
4. Provide high level advice and support for end-to-end employment services (commencement of employment to exit/separation).
- Review, analyse and action the agency's Aboriginal and inclusions plans, strategies and ensure key performance indicators are
met.
- Oversee the agency's People Matter Survey including promotion, collation of results, stakeholder engagement; and work with
business units and divisions to develop and action recommendations.
7. Assist the branch to develop promotion material to attract candidates to the agency that outlines the workplace culture.
- Follow service quality standards, internal policies, procedures, and legislative requirements to ensure high quality service and
advice is provided that exemplifies best practice and role modelling behaviour.
9. Undertake reporting and analysis of data including development of recommendations and reports for the branch.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed experience and contemporary knowledge in people focussed operational services with a focus on culture and
wellbeing activities and initiatives while providing best practice advice and support to a range of stakeholders.
2. High level written and verbal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills that applies conceptual and analytical
research.
3. High level demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain key relationships with various stakeholders
(internal and external) to positively influence people focussed practices and change initiatives.
4. Demonstrated high level experience in problem solving, planning, and organisational skills with attention to detail including the
capacity to successfully handle multiple, complex and high priority tasks concurrently and adapts positively to change.
5. Well-developed experience in coordinating high level projects, planning, facilitation, presentation and project management
skills.
6. Proven ability to provide high level advice, critically analyse and provide strategic corporate solutions that align with
organisational goals that encourages cultural change.
7. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills with the ability to be self-motivated, inspire teams and deliver results.
8. Proven sound experience in the use of common business applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
and Outlook), MS Teams, business systems/databases and other similar productivity tools.
9. Mature outlook to work cooperatively as a team member to maintain positive working relationships at all levels and to promote
a positive image of the department.
Desirable
1. Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a relevant field.

willingness to undertake travel to regions, including overnight stays.
