Newexco is a highly regarded exploration and mining service consultancy group with clients ranging from junior ASX-listed companies to international mining houses and private wealth funds. Newexco operates an integrated geological and geophysical team that has developed core expertise in the exploration and development of nickel sulphides, base metals and precious metals resulting in significant mine discoveries over the last number of years.

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and methodical
Geologist
to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will conduct field investigations, gather and analyse geological data contributing to projects that shape our understanding of the Earth's geology, structure and resources. Whether you're admiring and mapping rock formations, conducting field drill programs while minimising environmental impact, or supporting exploration efforts, your work will be vital to the success of our missions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geological fieldwork, including drilling programs and site assessments.
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret rock and soil data.
  • Generate geological maps, sections, interpretations and reports.
  • Use GIS and 3D modelling software to support data analysis.
  • Collaborate with fellow geoscientists, project managers, environmental scientists, client representative and stake holders.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in geological fieldwork or research.
  • Proficiency/exposure to geological software such as Micromine, QGIS, LeapFrog etc and Microsoft suite
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and safely in remote environments.

Preferred:

  • Experience in exploration or mining geology.
  • Familiarity with drilling techniques, sampling protocols, and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Professional certification or eligibility (e.g., AIG, IMM or equivalent) is a plus.
