Elvin Tan is a dynamic and growing interior design firm based in Melbourne, with projects in retail, commercial and hospitality. We are now seeking a mid-level designer to join our close-knit team to develop new spaces across Melbourne and other Australian cities.

Location: Docklands. Office based role.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Well-developed software skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit.
  • Experience in commercial design at least 2 years.
  • Working knowledge of space planning, with an ability to create commercial spaces that have high visual impact, but also function under the pressures of intense usage.
  • Ability to collaborate with other designers and clients to understand their vision, requirements and preferences.
  • Strong design development skills, able to concepts, mood boards and presentations that effectively communicate proposed ideas.
  • Current knowledge of trends in colours, materials and finishes, industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative design techniques.
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures and accessories that meet functionality needs, complement the design concept and meet budgetary constraints.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • A passion for creativity, innovation, and attention to detail.

An ability to speak Chinese is advantageous.
