The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Clarinet and Saxophone Tutor to join our vibrant and growing Music Program. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to inspire young musicians and contribute to a culture of artistic excellence within a supportive and collegial department.

The role currently encompasses:

  • Two hours of private instrumental tuition per week
  • Four hours of group teaching within our Year 7 Program per week
  • All teaching is scheduled on Thursdays, and availability on this day is essential

Key Responsibilities

  • ​Deliver high quality clarinet and saxophone instruction to individual students and small groups
  • Teach within the Year 7 Instrumental Program, supporting beginner musicians with structured and engaging lessons
  • Foster students' musicality, technical development, and disciplined practice habits
  • Prepare students for performances, ensemble participation, and ongoing progression in the Music Program
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Uphold the College's values and commitment to child safety in all interactions

You will bring

  • ​Relevant tertiary qualification in Music or Music Education
  • Demonstrated proficiency on clarinet and saxophone
  • Experience teaching instrumental music to children and young people
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, collaborative approach
  • A current Working with Children Check or VIT registration
  • A commitment to excellence in music education and alignment with the College's values
