Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain payment systems including transaction processing, authorization, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Develop integrations with external payment providers, gateways, banks, and fintech partners.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features on time.
  • Ensure compliance with payments industry standards and regulations (PCI-DSS, PSD2, ISO 20022, etc.).
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code following best practices.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance for high-volume transaction flows.
  • Contribute to modernization efforts, moving legacy systems to cloud-native, microservices-based architectures.
  • Stay up to date with trends in payments, digital wallets, real-time payments, and open banking.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience in the
    payments domain
     (e.g., card payments, real-time payments, BNPL, merchant acquiring, or payment gateways).
  • Strong proficiency in backend programming languages (e.g.,
    Java, Kotlin, C#, Python, or Go
    ).
  • Experience with
    cloud platforms
     (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of
    APIs, REST/GraphQL, and event-driven architectures
     (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
  • Familiarity with
    data security and compliance requirements
     in financial systems.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to
    fraud detection systems
     or AI/ML-based transaction monitoring.
  • Experience working in high-availability, high-throughput environments.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, observability).
