What you'll do
Apply independent scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens leading to the verification and validation of test results and the provision of advice to the clinical unit where appropriate.
Undertake diagnostic testing and related duties following Pathology Queensland established accredited protocols and standards within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards
Participate in continuous shift work on a 24-hour rostering arrangement, including weekends and Public Holidays.
Initiate and/or contribute to the development of scientific practices, procedures, protocols, and research activities within a multi-specialist work area that support the continuum of care engaging cross-discipline referencing where relevant.
Apply high level knowledge, skills, and experience to multi-specialist duties within the work unit with minimal clinical practice supervision out of hours.
Participate in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification that enhance the delivery of pathology services within the local service area.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
At least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognised university or tertiary institution.
Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill in the provision of diagnostic testing and clinical interpretation of results within a multi-disciplinary laboratory.
Demonstrated ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team and contribute a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the discipline.
Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to a multidiscipline service with provision of results and clinical advice in a client focused manner.
