This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.

About the Role

As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the school by providing high-quality grounds and facilities support to the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate. You will perform a range of activities to maintain the school to a high standard, following set instructions while exercising independence in carrying out routine day-to-day services. Non-routine duties will be performed under regular supervision. As a PPP school, our facilities are managed by Ventia, and you will report to both the Ventia Facilities Manager and the School Principal. You will also be supported by a part-time Schools Officer - Grounds and Maintenance, who works four days per week.

Your Responsibilities

As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance of school grounds and facilities. Plumbing, electrical, large tree and large
  • maintenance tasks will be completed by external service providers.
  • Checks and maintenance of facilities and grounds to ensure compliance with work, health and safety requirements.
  • Some administration tasks such as reports, delivery and collection of mail and banking.
  • General store duties including use, storage and management of school chemicals, receiving and distribution of school supplies
  • Please note that duties may include urgent cleaning duties that occur outside of normal operating hours of the school cleaning team
  • Previous grounds and/or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
