About the role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Medical Receptionist to join the team in an Upper Limb Orthopaedic Practice in our South Brisbane, QLD 4101 clinic. This full-time role (9 day fortnight) will see you play a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of our busy medical practice, providing exceptional customer service to our patients and supporting our clinical staff.

What you'll be doing

  • Greeting patients and managing the reception area in a professional and friendly manner
  • Handling all incoming phone calls, emails and queries in a courteous and efficient way
  • Scheduling appointments, managing the clinic's calendar and coordinating patient bookings
  • Providing administrative support to the medical team, including data entry, filing and reporting
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical filing systems
  • Assisting with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies
  • Adhering to all practice policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

  • Substantial experience (2+ years) working as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar customer-facing healthcare role with sound knowledge of Genie Software
  • Orthopaedic practice experience is required for this position
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal sensitively with patients
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Competent in using medical practice management software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently as required
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and upholding professional standards
  • Australian work rights are required for this position
