Location: Brisbane (Hybrid - Office and Work from Home)
Hours: Rostered shifts between 7:00am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday

About the Opportunity
Join our Goverment Client, a leading provider of mental health services supporting Australian veterans and their families. The Client Assist Contact Centre is the national gateway to Open Arms services, providing immediate intake, assessment, triage and referral to regional offices for ongoing care.
As a Clinician - Client Assist, you will play a vital role in delivering responsive, telephone-based mental health support to those who have served our nation. Working within a hybrid model, you will provide high-quality clinical services through phone-based intake, assessment, triage, and brief interventions, connecting clients to the right supports across Australia.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Deliver high-quality intake, risk assessment, and intervention services via telephone to eligible Open Arms clients.
- Conduct triage and referral to regional offices, ensuring timely and appropriate access to counselling and support.
- Support regional teams by reviewing and endorsing client suitability for services in line with Open Arms guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records within the Client Management System, including progress notes and care plans.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision, professional development, and team meetings.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, family members, and external providers to ensure coordinated care.
- Uphold APS Values, Open Arms policies, and ethical clinical standards in all aspects of your work.
About You
You are an experienced mental health professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You bring a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to your clinical work and demonstrate strong judgement, communication, and teamwork skills.
You will have:
- Proven experience providing intake, assessment, and evidence-based brief interventions in a mental health setting.
- The ability to deliver trauma-informed, client-centred care to individuals presenting with complex or high-risk needs.
- Strong documentation and IT skills, with the ability to navigate multiple systems confidently.
- The capability to remain calm and effective when responding to clients in crisis.
- A collaborative approach, contributing positively to a supportive and professional team culture.
Mandatory Requirements
Professional Registration:
Full registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Registered Nurse, or
- Membership with the AASW as a Social Worker, or
A Master's qualification in Counselling and registration with PACFA (Registered Clinical Counsellor) or ACA (Level 3 or 4).
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.
- Background Checks: Ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People registration or Working with Children Check.
