Who is Nut Producers Australia?
Nut Producers Australia (NPA) is an almond and pistachio processing and marketing business with a charter to maximise returns to growers and has an annual turnover more than $100 million. The business is a collective of three companies: NPA, the marketing and administration company based in Adelaide, Riverland Almonds in Loxton, Australian Pioneer Pistachio Company based in Robinvale, Vic. As a separate and complementary channel, NPA also carries on the business of product trading to add to the growth of the business.
About the company
Riverland Almonds (RA) is one of the three major handlers of almonds in Australia. The South Australian company had its beginnings in 1986 in Renmark. New and increased plantings on the southern side of the River Murray led to the establishment of a new factory in 1997 at Loxton. The new state of the art, custom built, stand alone, facility has been modelled on the best facilities in California, where over 70 per cent of the world's almonds are grown and processed.
About the role:
- Inspect and sort almonds for quality and hygiene standards
- Check the specific customer / country requirements on Batch Change Record and return to Packer / Operator.
- Approve print sample on Batch Change Records as supplied by Packer / Operator. File Batch Change Records for relevant area once details confirmed as correct. Verify product details with Packer and check carton / bag / sack weights.
- Perform sampling / assessment in work area as required and enter data into ALMADS:
- Receivals – kernel and inshell
- Ensure all finished product samples are moisture tested and detail recorded, advise OM/QAS were out of specification
- Support QAS in other duties as required.
- Complete finished product checks confirming pallet / bag ID, trade description, start and finish time and sign off record
- Ensure required retention samples are collected, labelled, and forwarded for storage. Ensure required samples are collected for testing and forwarded to the lab with correct labelling/paperwork.
- In receivals office – maintain storage and record of retention samples.
- Authority to identify stock that fails requirements and label for QA Hold
