About the Role

Due to the continued growth of our team, we are seeking a talented and motivated Restructuring & Insolvency Lawyer to join the Corporate Group at Lavan. As part of one of Western Australia's leading practices, you will have the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile matters, advising a diverse range of clients including lenders, insolvency practitioners, directors, shareholders, and creditors.

You will work alongside five partners within a large, multidisciplinary team comprised of experienced corporate, commercial, banking, and finance lawyers, as well as litigators with specialist knowledge of restructuring and insolvency.

Key responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on a broad range of restructuring and insolvency matters, including corporate restructurings, voluntary administrations, liquidations, receiverships, and contentious insolvency disputes.
  • Work on complex and high-profile matters, supporting a diverse client base including lenders, insolvency practitioners, directors, shareholders, and creditors.
  • Prepare and draft a variety of legal documents such as pleadings, court filings, advice, financial restructuring plans, and Deeds of Company Arrangement.
  • Collaborate closely with senior practitioners and partners across practice groups to provide clients with integrated legal solutions.

About you

We are seeking a motivated lawyer with a minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience and a positive, energetic attitude, eager to take on complex and challenging matters within a high-performing team.

In addition to your relevant legal experience, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in restructuring and corporate insolvency.
  • The ability to work in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and work effectively within a team.
