Resident Engagement Assistant

The Opportunity

Our Personal Carer & Engagement Worker (PCEWs) or Lifestyle Assistants are highly interactive supporting our elderly residents, their families and colleagues 7 days a week across AM and PM shifts. This role based at Tweed Aged Care Home | Northern Rivers NSW & Gold Coast QLD will see you working closely with the nursing and resident engagement teams when performing your resident-centric care duties in a timely and compassionate manner surrounded by highly skilled and supportive senior carers and managers. The attached position description outlines duties and accountabilities for this role - Lifestyle is what is this role is commonly called in the Aged Care sector. Duties expand across inter-generational & youth programs, companion support, physio and mobility, activities and daytrips and joining our inhouse "community of practice" education classes across dementia, wound & infection management, falls and mobility management and palliative care.

About You

Ideally, you have worked in the Aged Care sector for at least 1 year and the ability to "think on your feet", communicate effectively, build rapport, and maintain professional relationships with residents and co-workers alike. • Qualifications in Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) is essential for this role, however given the nature of the role working across resident lifestyle activities a Certificate IV in Leisure and Health is also eligible.
• Hold the NDIS Workers Screening Clearance as this is essential to work in the Aged Care sector (*or willingness to obtain)
• Excellent safety awareness to avoid our residents tripping, falling or hurting themselves - you need to be their extra eyes and ears
