Exciting opportunity for a permanent AO7 Principal Management Accountant role within the QBuild Finance team

As an AO7 Principal Management Accountant, you will assist the QBuild Finance team to provide financial services to QBuild, including financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, cash flow management, transaction processing and systems management, with a focus on financial sustainability, internal controls and compliance. The primary purpose of the position is to provide financial services and advice on budgeting, profit recognition, accounting and reporting for QBuild to support sound financial management.

What You Will Be Doing
This position contributes to the delivery of budgets and monthly management reports, and provides advice, analysis and support to QBuild business units by:

  • Proactively contributing to the planning and coordination of the annual budget, forecast and other periodic processes working in collaboration with QBuild business managers.
  • Preparing accurate and timely periodic financial management reporting including cost centre and budget variance analysis for QBuild and its business units.
  • Providing financial analysis, including monitoring and investigation of financial performance against budget for QBuild and its business units, in conjunction with QBuild business managers.
  • Monitoring, investigation, and advice in relation to work order management and the drivers of profit recognition and their impact on the financial performance of QBuild.
  • Assisting with the development of systems, processes, and tools for the management accounting function, including profit recognition and work in progress.
  • Effectively communicating financial management advice to QBuild business managers, ensuring accuracy and consistency of financial management information, including costs allocation and financial performance measures.
  • Assisting with the implementation of financial management policy as it relates to the management accounting function in conjunction with QBuild business managers.
  • Proactively contributing to the continuous improvement review of work practices, information systems, and processes to enhance the financial management function.
  • Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for the management accounting function to support QBuild.
  • Contributing to effective teamwork by developing an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of other team members and working collaboratively to achieve deadlines and manage competing priorities.
