About the Position

The College of Education, Psychology and Social Work is seeking a Lecturer in Early Childhood Education to play a pivotal role in shaping South Australia's evolving early childhood landscape through innovative teaching and research. In this influential role, you will bring your expertise in birth–5 education and care, and literacy and/or numeracy education, to inspire the next generation of educators and strengthen the early childhood workforce.

As a Lecturer in Early Childhood Education, you will:

  • Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum.
  • Undertake high-quality research aligned with the College's strengths, producing impactful publications and securing external research funding.
  • Supervise and mentor students undertaking Work Integrated Learning (WIL), Honours, and/or Higher Degree Research projects.
  • Build and sustain strong partnerships with industry, government, and community stakeholders to enhance teaching, learning, and research outcomes.

About You

You are a passionate academic with a deep commitment to advancing early childhood education. You bring creativity, rigour, and innovation to your teaching and research, and you are motivated to equip students with the skills and confidence to become outstanding educators and leaders in the sector.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A PhD or equivalent qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in literacy and/or numeracy education in birth–5 early childhood settings.
  • Evidence of innovative and high-quality teaching at tertiary level, including curriculum design and topic coordination.
  • A developing or established research profile with quality publications and success in attracting external funding (commensurate with career stage).
