Position 1: Motor Mechanic (General)

The Motor Mechanic (General) is primarily responsible for the repair, maintenance, and testing of lightweight motor vehicles and their internal combustion engines. This role ensures all work meets the highest standards of safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engine assemblies, transmission systems, and steering mechanisms.
  • Perform scheduled servicing, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tuning.
  • Rebuild engines and components, followed by operational testing and calibration.
  • Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to assess roadworthiness and perform necessary adjustments.
  • Respond promptly to emergency roadside assistance requests.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in related position.
  • Qualifications in related desirable.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic software and familiarity with petrol/diesel engines.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to manage varied tasks efficiently.

Position 2: Mechanic (Heavy Commercial Vehicles)

The Motor Mechanic (Heavy Commercial Vehicles) is critical to ensuring the operational readiness and safety of our fleet, which includes prime movers, trailers, and bulk freight equipment. This role focuses on complex diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and adhere to all NHVR, CoR, and WHS regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and logbook servicing for engines, transmissions, and braking systems in line with OEM guidelines.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to identify and repair faults in electrical, mechanical, and emission control systems.
  • Rebuild major components and perform fabrication work as needed.
  • Ensure full compliance with NHVR standards and maintain detailed records for audits.
  • Adhere to strict workshop safety protocols and manage work orders through fleet management software.
  • Provide roadside assistance and support driver training on vehicle checks and defect reporting.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in heavy diesel mechanics, preferably in road transport.
  • Qualifications in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
  • Experience with NHVR standards and bulk freight equipment is desirable.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic software and familiarity with petrol/diesel engines.
