Penny for Pound is a well-established Bread & Pastry Wholesale Bakery based in Moorabbin. We pride ourselves on producing a high-quality product, baked fresh daily and delivered to various cafes around Melbourne. We are a friendly, tight knit team, who take pride in what we do.

What are you:

We're on the lookout for a motivated and hands-on Night Operations 2IC to support the team during the running of our nightly operations. This role is essential in coordinating slicing, packing, distribution, and clean-down activities while maintaining top-tier communication, quality, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive team culture based on reliability, respect, professionalism, and service excellence
  • Communicate expectations clearly and lead by example during night shifts

  • Ensure staff are trained in line with OH&S and food safety procedures

  • Manage nightly packing processes ensuring accuracy and food safety

  • Coordinate product handover with Pastry & Bakery teams
  • Monitor quality control—products must arrive in excellent condition

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven leadership experience in a similar night operations or logistics role
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong understanding of food safety and quality assurance standards
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt to shifting priorities
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and a commitment to teamwork
