Suzuran is a very successful Japanese grocery store and Sushi take-away restaurant located in Camberwell VIC. We have undoubtedly the most extensive range of Japanese food products available in Victoria. We are hiring a part time sushi bar kitchen hand now

Position: Part-Time Sushi Bar Kitchen Hand

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take customer orders in person and over the phone (English required)
  • Assist with simple sushi preparation and packing
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area
  • Follow instructions from the sushi chef and support the team

Working Hours:

  • Part-time position, 3 days a week
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Must be flexible and available to work Public holidays, and especially during the holiday season (late November to end of December and beyond)

Requirements:

  • Intermediate English (Able to take orders in person and over the phone)
  • Punctual, honest, and hardworking
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Willingness to learn and follow directions
  • Prior experience with sushi making or fish preparation is a plus
  • Simple sushi preparation and packing
  • Commitment to at least 6 months of employment
  • Understanding of Japanese working culture is preferred
  • Must have valid Australian working rights

(Student and Working Holiday Visa holders welcome – must be available for at least 6 months)
