We're on the lookout for a passionate and driven Employer Engagement Officer to build relationships with employers, industry groups and local stakeholders, creating real opportunities for young job seekers. If you're a connector, a problem-solver and a champion for young people, this could be the perfect role for you
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Employer Engagement Officer, you will:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry groups and stakeholders.
- Identify employment, work experience and training opportunities for young people.
- Work closely with Youth Development Coaches to match young people with suitable employment opportunities.
- Advocate for inclusive employment practices, particularly for young people with disabilities.
- Coordinate the Greater Darwin Community Investment Committee (CIC) - a collaborative initiative connecting industry, education, government and young people to create sustainable youth employment pathways.
- Contribute to regular National Youth Employment Body forums and policy statements.
- Provide workforce insights and employer support to help businesses feel confident hiring young people.
- Maintain accurate employer databases and records to track engagement and job placements.
ABOUT YOU
You're a natural relationship builder who's passionate about youth employment and workforce development. You thrive on connecting businesses with talent, problem-solving and creating sustainable employment solutions.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Experience in employer engagement, recruitment, workforce development or a related field.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to advocate for young people.
- A track record of building successful relationships with employers and industry groups.
- An understanding of youth employment challenges and strategies for supporting young people into work.
- The ability to coordinate initiatives, such as industry partnerships or employer networks.
- NT Working with Children (Ochre) Card & NT Driver's Licence (essential).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check &/or National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
